Global Tek Manufacturing offers our Partners the highest quality Type II and Type III Anodization as a fully integrated in house process.
Our line, built in 2016, has the latest in process controls and capabilities, assuring bath temperatures, chemistry and cycle times are tightly controlled so that all the standards of your components are exceeded. This system was also constructed with the highest levels of environmental controls and features a closed loop solid waste collection and a water curtain air filtration system that assures all air borne particulants are captured at the source.
Our experience with military specifications and medical requirements combined with our state of the art equipment will meet or exceed your coating standards. We also hold a Federal Firearms License.
Conventional anodize, or Type II anodize, is an multiple step bath process that converts the surface of the aluminum to aluminum oxide. This generally clear aluminum oxide layer provides excellent corrosion resistance, moderate durability, good adhesion for painting or bonding, and excellent coloring options. This coating is typically about 10-20 µm (.0004 – .0008 inches) thick. Common applications are structural and architectural products, automotive, electronic and leisure goods components.
TYPE III or HARD COAT
Type III anodize, is a variation of the conventional anodize process and can be referred to as “Hard Coat” or “File Hard”. The application yields highly wear-resistant coatings and can be used for excellenct corrosion resistance and as a top coat base. Type III is generally a darker coating and like the Model T is offered in black and is generally not offered with the option to dye the coating. Coatings are typically 25 – 50 µm (.001 – .002″) thick and are applied to parts in the firearms, medical and applications where abrasion resistance is the primary requirement.
Our state of the art line includes the ability to electropolish your components. This allows GTM to create fantastic gloss, textures and matte’s using our pretreatment and electropolishing steps in concert with our anodizing. We invite you to challenge us with your cosmetic finishes!
Adding this core skill to our resource base allowed us to lower lead times and costs while simultaneously improving Quality. These principles are the foundation of our business philosophy.

To provide our customers with the widest range of finishes possible GTM has augmented its Anodizing capabilities with electropolishing. Electropolishing allows us to create varying mattes all the way to very high gloss levels and extraordinary cosmetics when combined with anodizing. The precise control with the electropolishing process makes for spectacular consistence. We welcome your finishing challenges!
